Having spent six months in France following his injury at Goodison Park last season, the Newcastle United midfielder was granted a leave of absence last week after a family member was taken ill in Tunisia.
It meant that the French international star was withdrawn from the reserve side that beat Bolton Wanderers 3-0 in Leyland.
The former Marseille ace trained yesterday in preparation for the Premier League clash with Spurs on Saturday.
