Gascoigne's sister is set to be married later this year and she said on 'Look North' she fears he could miss the wedding because he is on a one way trip to ruin.
The ex-Toon star was sectioned on Sunday after approaching a member of the public in an agitated state in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

A Hertfordshire Police spokeswoman said: "The man is no longer sectioned. Police believe he is no longer in hospital care."
It was the second time the troubled star has been sectioned this year.
Born in Dunston and signed from Redheugh Boys Club, Gascoigne made 104 appearances for Newcastle, scoring 25 goals, during his spell at St James' Park.
He left the club for Spurs in 1988.
