Woody absence explained

There has been no recurrence of the thigh injury that kept him out of the Asia Cup semi-final with Birmingham City but the England centre back has been suffering with a minor stomach strain.

Sir Bobby told the Evening Chronicle: "It's only a slight stomach strain and we don't think there is any hernia problem, although the injury is around that area.

"Fortunately it has settled down because he hasn't been training or playing and we are hoping we are going to get out of this one without any problems."

Lets hope that Sir Bobby is right because despite the fact he has only made ten appearances for us so far Woodgate has already established himself as the player we can least afford to be without.
