Woodgate sale - Fully Justified?

Jonathan Woodgate has broken down in training for new club Real Madrid. Having last been seen sporting a Newcastle United shirt against Chelsea almost six months ago, the central defender now looks set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

He limped out of training today sparking fears that he may have suffered a serious setback in his bid to make his much anticipated comeback and subsequent Real debut.

This latest injury only goes to add weight to Newcastle’s decision to sell. £13.5 million at the moment looks like very good business given our main reason to sell was indeed his injury trouble.

Despite his often outstanding performances and unquestioned ability, whilst at Newcastle he did disrupt the development of any understanding between our central pairing given his infrequent appearances.

Decision to sell fully justified? This I feel is still in some doubt, but today’s latest news goes a long way towards this justification.
