Both clubs have hit the relegation trap-door, and the rest of English football predicted it long, long ago.

Rovers went about things by keeping hold of a manager the supporters KNEW wasn't good enough.

Wolves on the other hand, ditched the boss ... but promoted his No 2 (who had no managerial experience at all) to the hot seat.

Wolves were relegated last week, and five days later confirmed the appointment of Stale Solbakken as their new manager.

Norwegian Solbakken, 44, has signed a contract, the length of which was not disclosed, which starts on July 1.

Terry Connor, who has been in charge since the sacking of Mick McCarthy in early February, will lead the team in Sunday's final Barclays Premier League game at Wigan before standing down.

Solbakken: "I am delighted to be taking up the important challenge to manage Wolves.

It's an exciting opportunity to manage a great club and I can't wait to get started."
