Youngster Freddie Woodman has made an excellent start to life at Swansea City, proving why so many top clubs are showing an interest in him.

Newcastle United may well have a multi million pound player at their disposal when Freddie Woodman returns from Swansea City, if he keeps performing to his current level.

Steve Bruce loaned out Woodman to Swansea over the summer, and their decision looks to have been a masterstroke now.

Bruce couldn’t offer Woodman the first-team football that he wanted at St. James’ Park, but he is rapidly making a name for himself as one of the most exciting goalkeeping talents in the country.

Woodman has represented England at every youth age group, but breaking into Newcastle’s starting line-up has proven problematic.

The 22-year-old has never played in the Premier League for Newcastle.

Woodman has been thrown straight into Swansea’s starting line-up, and his opening few weeks at the Liberty Stadium have been nothing short of remarkable.

Swansea currently lead the way in the Championship and Woodman’s performances in goal are a major reason why they have done so well, keeping two clean sheets in five games.
