The prospect of Shearer managing his old club could be an attractive option for a man who has made no secret of his intention to move into management when he feels the time and club are right. Mike Ashley snubbed the ex-England skipper in January, and Blackburn seems to be Shearer's "other" club.
Shearer will not get the Newcastle (as long as Ashley is owner) until he gets a strong CV to support his status as a Geordie legend.
