Who Would Sign Barton?

One report claims: "If they stay up, United owner Mike Ashley is expected to give Keegan a transfer war-chest of up to £50m to spend in the summer.

"And his number one target is Manchester United and England midfielder Michael Carrick."
Sir Alex Ferguson paid Spurs £16m for him and I cannot see why he would want to sell him ... or why Carrick would want to leave. So I would not read too much into it.

And if the other big report of the day is true "Mike Ashley has given Keegan two games to save his job", that is another reason to forget about a bid for Carrick.

As for Barton, I don't think he has had a good game since he signed for us, and Keegan would be willing to listen to offers. But who the hell would want him?

The Newcastle manager admits "Joey let me down at Manchester City" and with two major court cases coming up soon, I think the midfielder could be spending time at Her Majesty's pleasure.
