White Hart Lane Will Be No Miss For Toon Fans!

The notorious walk (from-and-to) Seven Sisters tube station (the closest to the ground) has horror memories for those Toon fans who used to travel to away games in the 1970s and 1980s.

Times have changed for the better, thank God, but that trek was one of the most dangerous of the away fixtures.

I remember vividly the Spurs fans who used to wait by the entrance to Seven Sisters after the game, armed with bottle, and they'd smash them above the gateway as we walked under ... giving us a glass shower.

I'm not saying they had a problem with Geordies ... they did the same to the Mackems (or so they tell me) ... and I'm sure others too.

And like our visit to Wolves some 18 years ago, Spurs plan to use the new ground for a season while it is partially completed.

Spurs are understood to be confident the benefits of the new stadium would outweigh the opposition to the removal of the buildings they hope to have demolished.

The clubs have also revealed the companies involved in the plans, including designers KSS, who worked on the City of Manchester Stadium, and Buro Happold, who are involved in the London 2012 Olympic Stadium.
