Watford Observer: "Newcastle made a second bid last night, which was rejected, and that was followed up with another offer today, which was again declined.
"The initial bid on Monday was “miles away” from the Hornets valuation according to manager Sean Dyche so news of the follow-up offers being turned down is not surprising as Newcastle are renowned for being cautious when it comes to bidding for players.
"Reports from the North East have suggested this was the Magpies final bid for the defender, who has made 244 appearances for Watford."
