Watch Out Keegan - No Bremner Or Dalglish In Scotland!

Our last trophy was the Fairs Cup, which was lifted by Scottish skipper Bobby Moncur.

And now Kevin Keegan says he has his eyes on "four or five players in Scotland", but former Newcastle and Dundee United striker Kevin Gallacher claims that playing in the Premier League is a massive jump for Scottish footballers.

Gallacher left Tayside for Coventry in 1990 and spent the rest of his career in England with Blackburn and Newcastle.

Gallacher: "In my opinion, going to the Premier League make you a far better player.

"There are players coming down to England now and that's a surprise because a few years ago there wasn't many.

"Players in Scotland may have a hard game every four or five but every game down there is a tough one.

"You could be playing against a world-class player one week, a top international the next week, then the next week you are playing against a guy who should possibly be breaking into his national side so it is very tough.

"So if the players that go to England can hold their own it is good for them and it is good for Scottish football."

There are a few Scottish internationas already playing in England, but there is not one setting the Premiership alight. Getting by ... perhaps ... but only just.

So Keegan ... be warned. Don't think the grass (or the heather) on the other side of the fence is any greener than down here in God's country.

The days of unearthing a Kenny Dalglish, Alan Hansen, Billy Bremner, Eddie Gray or Hughie Gallacher seem to be long gone.

Yes, we have the Jocks telling us their national side is on the mend, but those Scottish players will be sat there arses watching Euro 2008 on the TV just like Michael Owen, David Beckham and Wayne Rooney.
