Steve McClaren told The Chronicle: "I'm talking to people over the next two or three days and hopefully by Monday I will have enough people in place but I can't say at the moment because maybe they don't know the situation with their own jobs."
Paul Simpson, who worked as McClaren's assistant manager at Derby County is reportedly in line to join him at St James' Park, while Steve Black is also expected to be part of the backroom team.
