The first leg of the tie will be played at St.James Park on the 7th April with the return leg in the Estadio Jose Alvalade coming seven days later on the 14th.

It has already been decided that Hugo Viana will not be allowed to play for Sporting in the clash just as he was prevented from playing when the two clubs met in a 1-1 draw in the group stage of the competition.

Newcastle are 7/2 favourites for the Uefa Cup with Sporting an 11/2 chance.

Our Semi-final opponents were also decided today, we will meet the winner of the tie between Villareal/AZ Alkmaar v Steau Bucharest.
