Toon Let Luque Sort Out His Own Transfer!

The Spaniard is still a Newcastle United player, and despite saying he is desperate to get away, he refuses to take a pay cut!

Luque was not involved at Bolton on Saturday and his immediate future remains unclear.

Levante officials last night pulled the plug on any deal simply because the striker refused to budge on his wage demands, and instead they paid £340,000 to sign Christian Rigano from Messina.

Newcastle want Luque off the wage bill, and the player had been given permission to negotiate a return to his homeland himself.

He insists - through his father - just about every club in Spain would love to have him. And ... yes ... we've heard Barcelona and Real Madrid mentioned.

Yet,  Espanyol and Real Betis, two more said to be interest by Mr Luque senior, say they don't want the 29-year-old.

Feyenoord are another Dutch club who registered an interest in recent weeks, but laughed off his personal terms just like PSV.
