Former Toon skipper and manager Glenn Roeder says we must "keep our heads while other around us are falling apart".
Glenn Roeder: “It is achievable because of the way teams are acting around them.
“It’s the one thing that Newcastle have over some of their rivals – they have a settled squad.
“There seems to be a lot of squabbling, unrest, infighting and distress at clubs around them.
“The clubs around them are not having their best seasons.
“Teams like Chelsea, Arsenal and even Liverpool – even though they are doing well in the cups and play in the Carling Cup final on Sunday.
“In the league they’ve had problems.
“The team that Kenny Dalglish has put together is not gelling."
