'Too Nice' Keegan Starting To Worry Me!

He never slams a player in public, nor does he like the same thing done to him.

But the way he is praising players ... and I mean every player on Newcastle's books ... is starting to be a little over-the-top.

If you listen to him talking you would think we were 12 points clear at the top of the Premiership and heading for the Champions League final, because all of our players are brilliant.

Sadly, a reality check ... we have certain players who are not fit to wear the shirt, and I'm not saying blast them in the newspapers, but don't give them credit when it is not due.

Keegan wants every player to feel a "million dollars", but telling the likes of Oba Martins, Shola Ameobi and Mark Viduka they are going to be the saviour of the club ... then not picking them ... is patronising. And having told Martins the same story week after week, then going for Alan Smith is bound top be a kick in the nuts for the player.

Kevin Keegan: "He excites me very much as a player. He is very, very different to anything that not only have we got at this football club, but probably in the Premier League.

"He has got a lot of things going for him that you do not see every day on a training ground.

"I am delighted to have him back and delighted that he is fit again.

"It sends up all sorts of ideas in your mind of what this player can bring to the football club.

"At every club, players like that are invaluable. They just go in and do a job for you, give it their very, very best every time and are great around the place.

"Those type of players are absolute gold dust, not just at Newcastle United, but at any club."
