Team news for Newcastle v Charlton

Last updated : 25 October 2002 By Martyn Elliott

Craig Bellamy has been ruled out with a recurrence of his knee injury, but Kieron Dyer has been included in the squad after missing the games with Blackburn and Juventus.

Dyer will have a fitness test tomorrow morning, as will Lomana Lua Lua and Shola Ameobi.

Kieron is likely to partner Alan Shearer up front, with Jermaine Jenas keeping his place in midfield after an impressive display against Juventus.

Should Dyer and the two forwards all fail their fitness tests, Carl Cort and Michael Chopra will find themselves called into action.

Nikos Dabizas is available again after suspension, but may have to settle for a place on the bench after Bramble’s performance midweek.

Charlton manager Alan Curbishley’s main worry is England Under-21 full-back Paul Konchesky who has a calf strain and will have a fitness test tomorrow.

The good news for us though is that former smoggie Robbie Mustoe is fit and should start.
