Steven Taylor: "We had a couple of chances in the first half, and we were unfortunate not to take them.

"We always knew it was going to be difficult, but to be fair we stuck at it well.

"Our game plan was very good, but fair play to them, they got in plenty of crosses and one of them got on Bendtner's head.

"He took his goal well, and it was a kick in the teeth for us.

"The second one from Denilson was just a great strike.

"We could have got back in the game through Obafemi Martins just after Bendtner had scored, and if that had gone in it would have changed the game. It was well played by Senderos who got back on the line.

"We know our passing wasn't the best, but the lads never stopped running and it was a fantastic effort from everyone.

"We had to get in their faces a lot, put ourselves about and not give them any time on the ball.

"I thought we did that very well, and I thought the midfield stuck at it very well against top quality technical players.

"It was a disappointed changing room, because the lads have worked so hard."
