Striker blow for Toon

New injury blow
Bellamy underwent knee surgery in the summer and has yet to reach full fitness this season.

It was thought that after several good performances for both Newcastle and Wales that the knee was better, but Bellamy pulled out of training on Thursday complaining of pain from the injury.

Newcastle’s medical staff will consult with Dr Richard Steadman, the man who saved Alan Shearer’s career, before deciding what action to take.

Don’t expect to see Craig on Saturday though.

Sir Bobby is troubled by the news, especially with Lomana Lua Lua also doubtful for the Charlton game.

"Craig had been going around saying his knee is terrific and that the problem is over, but then he complained about it," Sir Bobby said. "We have spoken to Dr Steadman and will let it settle for a couple of days to see what it's like."
