According to the Sunday Mirror, Spurs have checked out Owen several times in recent weeks.
Spurs transfer supremo Damien Comolli and boss Juande Ramos both view Owen as a possible replacement for Dimitar Berbatov if the Bulgarian ace moves in the summer, as expected.
Newcastle have yet to make any new offer to the 28-year-old England striker, whose current four-year deal expires in June 2009.
