Did Glenn Roeder resign or was he pushed?

Well ... at the time we were told he did the decent thing and 'walked the walk'.

But like so many managers before him, Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, and Sir Bobby (to name just three), he was relieved of duty and handed a pay-off.

Roeder received £1.1 million, despite claiming at the time he had resigned.

And of course Freddy's playboy buddy (and former deputy chairman) Douglas Hall would be in there somewhere.

Allegedly he was given a £1.17 million payment for being told he was no longer welcome in the board room.

Another revelation, the club lost £5 million in a failed casino scheme.

And new owner Mike Ashley has had to clear out £75 million worth of debt.
