Sir Bobby on Liverpool and his hopes for the season

Last updated : 31 December 2002 By Martyn Elliott

"Liverpool are having a strange time lately and, to tell the truth, I find it all amazing," he told the Evening Chronicle.

"Like everyone else, I am amazed and mystified at what is happening to them. But they will get it right. There is no doubt about that.

"The situation Liverpool find themselves in just will not go on. Their players are too good for that.

"I keep saying that Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United is where we want to be. We are fourth at the moment.

"And we know that if we win our game in hand then we will be level on points with the teams in second place.

"We would still be fourth because of our goal difference.

"And if we could finish fourth again at the end of the season I would do somersaults.

"No, make that double somersaults."

I’m never quite sure what Sir Bobby’s talking about, but you wouldn’t swap him for anyone would you!
