Shearer statistically not as good as Di Canio

'I tell you i'm better than that Alan Shearer'
They have compiled a team that they describe as the best since the Premiership began, based on their facts and figures.

So surely the all time Premiership top scorer is in? No.

Well he must have been kept out by Henry, Owen, Cole, Sheringham, Hasselbaink, van Nistelrooy, Wright or Ferdinand? No.

Alan Shearer has been overlooked in favour of Dwight Yorke and Paolo DiCanio. Madness.

Surely the best striker is the one who has scored the most goals? And not always in a good team.

Other surprising choices in the team include David James ahead of Peter Schmeichel, Ian Harte ahead of Stuart Pearce and Frank Leboeuf ahead of anybody.

In future I’ll just concentrate on two stats – goals scored and points won. I’m sure I’m right in saying that Alan Shearer has done more of both than Di Canio.
