Shearer Must Learn To Be "Boring" Like The Scousers

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has hit out at Shearer over comments he made about cigars (of all things) and probably reminded him who won the war.

Ballack has had a poor season, no matter what he says, and his displays have had Chelsea fans up in arms so it's an easy shot blaming Shearer for comments made on TV. The Blues fans have not taken to him, and he walks around Stamford Bridge as though he's selling match programmes.

But Shearer must understand being a TV pundit ... you are EXPECTED to be boring. God forbid, the sooner "anorak" John Motson hangs up his sheepskin will be the day it is safe to turn on the telly. And is there a more boring combination than Alan Hanson and Mark Lawrenson? That Scouse combination is about as exciting as listening to snooker on the radio!

Shearer accused Ballack of "playing like he has got a cigar on".

Ballack: "I don't care what people write or say about me. It doesn't bother me. Shearer can say what he wants, but that's life.

"Chelsea are double Champions and so expectations are high and the expectations grow, especially when you are slightly behind.

"You have to live with that, especially the new players in the team. But I feel well integrated within Chelsea and I am feeling really comfortable here. I have found my role within the team and get sufficient acknowledgement and support from the team, especially from Mourinho. We are talking a lot together."
