Rafael Benitez is confident that new signing Jacob Murphy can "develop even more" at Newcastle after he moved from Norwich.

The Magpies boss finally sealed a deal for the England Under-21 international, agreeing to pay the Championship club around £12.5million for his signature having had a couple of previous bids snubbed.

Murphy enjoyed a successful campaign with the Canaries last season, scoring 10 goals in 41 appearances, and Benitez feels the 22-year-old Magpies fan can now push on and improve as a player in the Premier League stage.

"He's a young and talented player and hopefully he can develop even more here," Benitez told the club's official website.

"We hope he can show us the passion, commitment and ability that he showed in the Championship last season."

Murphy, whose fee and length of contract remains under wraps, is the third signing at St James' Park this summer following on from Chelsea winger Christian Atsu and Eibar defender Florian Lejeune.
