Pardew insists Newcastle haven’t missed Andy Carroll – thanks to the signings of Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse - but Ba has not been happy on Tyneside for some time.

Geordie Carroll, 23, has yet to score for the Hammers and is out injured for up to two months.

West Ham paid £1.5m to take Carroll for the season with a view to a £17m deal next summer.

Newcastle, who sold Carroll to Liverpool for £35m in January 2011, are also keen to re-sign him.

Liverpool fancy Ba, and the Reds could try to land the Senegal striker in January when his £7m release clause is active again.

Pardew: “Andy was a big character here. But, luckily, other big characters have emerged.

"I’m really happy with the strikers I have.

"We were as good without him as we were with him, but I would never dismiss bringing him back."

Just to remind you - Liverpool cannot arrange a swap deal with Newcastle before the summer.

West Ham have Carroll until May, and the striker has played for TWO Premiership clubs in one season (Liverpool and West Ham) and cannot play for a third.
