Newcastle Launch New 2020/21 Home Shirt by Puma

Newcastle United have launched their new Puma home kit for the 2020/21 season, which will be worn for the first time on Sunday when the Magpies conclude the current Premier League campaign at St James’ Park against new champions Liverpool.

Compared to the thick-striped 2019/20 jersey, the new release incorporates much thinner black and white stripes. But it still retains the classic Newcastle look and will be paired with black shorts and black socks, the latter of which will also feature a white hoop.

FUN88 continues as the primary sponsor for a fourth consecutive season following the recent announcement of a new multi-year partnership with the online casino and bookmaker.

“As the supporters will know, me and my kids enjoyed wearing last season's kit a lot but the new shirt looks great and I am looking forward to wearing it for the very first time on Sunday,” Magpies winger Allan Saint-Maximin told the club’s official website.

“I hope supporters will enjoy it too and we can be together again in black and white soon.”

Newcastle will finish what initially looked like it would be a very challenging 2019/20 Premier League season in 13th or 14th place depending on final day's results, having never really been in serious danger of relegation since November.

It was expected that Newcastle would have new owners by the time the season finished, but the attempted Saudi Arabia takeover is currently thought to be stalled ‘indefinitely’ over disputes regarding Premier League broadcasting rights in the gulf nation.

With the resolution not looking as though it will be a straightforward one, Newcastle are now having to prepare to begin the new season with existing owner Mike Ashley still in charge. That could also mean a reprieve for manager Steve Bruce, who was in danger of being replaced by new owners.
