Newcastle Join Race to Bring Juventus Midfielder Adrien Rabiot to Premier League

Newcastle are one of several clubs interested in signing Adrien Rabiot, who is said to be keen on a summer move to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old, who joined Juventus at the start of the season, seemed to have earned the big move that would take his career to the next level. However, as Rabiot now approaches the conclusion of his first full season, he could be on the move once again.

According to Calciomercato, Newcastle are now interested in signing Rabiot, and this interest is said to not be dependent upon the impending takeover.

They add that Newcastle could sign him for between €20m and €30m, potentially making him the second most expensive signing in the club’s history.

Newcastle join two fellow Premier League clubs in the race to sign Rabiot, with Manchester United and Everton also keen on him. The midfielder has already been said to be ‘looking firmly’ on a move to England, with his mother-agent, Veronique, also setting her sights on English shores.

Rabiot was rumoured to be on strike from Juventus training after turning up late to Maurizio Sarri’s squad. However, he later dismissed these rumours himself, taking to his Instagram account to respond to the media speculation.

The 25-year-old signed for Juventus on a free transfer last summer, bringing an end to seven years with hometown club Paris Saint-Germain. It marked the culmination of a hugely successful career with Les Parisiens, where the Frenchman won 18 major honours.

Rabiot has earned the gametime at Juve, making 24 appearances this season for the Bianconeri. However, he is yet to record a single goal or assist for the Serie A leaders.

The French midfielder would prove an excellent asset to Steve Bruce’s side, offering the experience and silverware credentials that would make him a welcome addition at St. James’ Park. He also has international experience with France, earning six caps for Les Bleus.
