Newcastle United's disappointing season continued as they sank to a 1-0 defeat in the local derby against rivals Sunderland, courtesy of a disastrous Nick Woltemade own goal early in the second half.
The loss leaves Newcastle languishing in 12th place and drew fierce criticism from former players, including Bruno Guimarães, who ripped into his teammates for an "embarrassing" display.
The defeat was compounded by Sunderland taking a squad photo in front of the away fans, an act of retaliation for a similar gesture by Newcastle two years ago.
