Moyes Under Pressure To Get Cabaye?

Last updated : 11 August 2013 By Footy Mad - Editor

Unfortunately though, we live in anything but what you'd call an ideal world when it comes to the summer transfer window.

fCabaye is an affable enough bloke when it comes to the media but the only time he really ventured into talking about his future this summer was to say he wants to play for Manchester United.

The reality is that Manchester United could still end up knocking on the door before close of play when it comes to this summer's recruitment drive.

The pressure is also growing on David Moyes to get a midfield man in, and if he doesn't get Cesc Fabregas to Old Trafford, Cabaye is very much a player on Manchester United's hit-list.

But Newcastle can demand whatever sum they please for the French international midfielder ... until the Frenchman insists he is going 'or else', as many do these days.

Who wants an unhappy player on their books when they can collect £20m (or whatever), because Cabaye showed last season he is only 50% of what he can be, when he's not in the mood.

He's FRENCH after all. The moodiest nation under the sun!

Last term he struggled and the high standards he matched in his first campaign weren't always reproduced week by week.

You could make a case for burnout after Euro 2012 while Cabaye even admitted he'd suffered with depression at one stage.

However, the problem is he didn't look like a £30million player for large parts of the last campaign, and we suffered because of it.

He should be a key player - if not THE key player - but he's wanting "out", and that makes it all the more frustrating for Alan Pardew.

Playing for Newcastle United should be the biggest motivation of all, but not all players think like that, particularly under Pardew.

Coloccini is another who wants leave as soon as possible ... and that's the club skipper!

Just like Andy Carroll's sale to Liverpool for £35million, the transaction came through too late to even consider who would replace him, but why haven't we bought already?

There is money in the coffers - if you believe Pardew - only Ashley won't let him spend it!

And a big cheque sitting in the bank is never a consolation to any supporter.

Given that Cabaye lost his place in the France squad this week, perhaps his focus is on his next move.

Because he ain't gonna win a thing under Pardew ... and he knows it!

WE TELL IT AS IT IS - NO BULLSHIT!
