Money Or Support - Newcastle's Dilemma?

Newcastle will set about the task of cementing their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup and Glenn Roeder has asked the fans to dig in their pockets and go to St James' Park to show their support.

But, with the match live on Channel 5, and the tie just about cut and dried, many fans are saving up for the next round. And a little common sense from Newcastle would help all concerned.

Just down the road Middlesbrough charged fans £10 and £5 for the last cup tie that was shown on TV to drag some bodies through the turnstiles.

Glenn Roeder wants the Toon Army to give vocal support: "they were like a 12th man against Manchester United and Liverpool and that was a reason for the great results". But some compassion from the club would go a long way to getting that support, and cutting the ticket prices would guarantee a fabulous Geordie atmosphere.

The bottom line is simple ... fans are starting to pick their games because football is getting too expensive. There IS an answer ... CUT TICKET PRICES!
