Moncur Blast For Players With No Heart!

Moncur: "The time has come for players to switch off their iPods and concentrate on keeping this great club in the Premier League.

"I am concerned, of course I am.

"Let's face facts - the future of our Premier League status is in our own hands, but it's up to the players.

"The run of no wins since December 15 going into the crunch March period is worrying. And let's be honest, if they don't beat Fulham, Reading and Sunderland then they deserve to go down.

"This is a serious slump for United, but at Anfield it all seemed to be going to plan.

"Kevin went there to get a point and, up until the fluke goal for Jermaine Pennant, I think that was going OK.

"After that it rocked the team's fragile confidence.

"Newcastle didn't really threaten, which is worrying.

"I was looking round at Anfield at a time when we needed some leaders - and there weren't any.

"I know Steven Taylor and Nicky Butt were doing their best, but there was no-one there to boss things.

"What they need is somebody to wake them up.

"There is no longer a player like Alan Shearer or Rob Lee who can get the team rattled enough to win games during a tough period.

"It's all right saying it, but talk is cheap and what they need now is to switch off the iPods, stop worrying about contracts and get the team out of the relegation zone.

"Only then can we start to think about a bright future under Mike Ashley, Chris Mort and Kevin Keegan."
