Milner A Waste Of Money? Would You Put Him In Your Top Toon XI?

What about James Milner? At £23million, Milner did not come cheap, and personally I don't believe for a second he is worth half that!

Shearer, Beardsley, Lee and Ginola could change a game. They could - have been - the difference between victory and defeat in certain games.

What about Milner, has he got that "star quality"? He's a grafter, but is he more than that?

That is only my opinion ... what about your? Tell us on our Newcastle Mad message board.

Micah Richards believes  Milner has already proved he is much more than another overpriced Manchester City star.

Milner finally completed his drawn-out switch from Aston Villa last week and made his debut in Monday's 3-0 victory over Liverpool.

Although Gareth Barry collected the man-of-the-match prize, many pundits felt Milner was unfortunate to miss out after an all-action performance that included a major role in City's first two goals.

Richards: "James has brought a new dimension to the team.

"When he first came people said he was overpriced. They said all he does is work hard.

"Now they know has a little bit more in his locker than that.

"He can use his right foot and left foot and has plenty of skill.

"His awareness is superb, so hopefully he can improve and bring that to the rest of the team."
