Shola Ameobi: “It would be nice to represent the club in the World Cup.
“We have a few other players that will be there so there’s a good mix of guys here that are vying for a place on that plane to Brazil.
“To get the opportunity to go there at the end of the season is fantastic. It’s something we are looking forward to.
“It’s really exciting and it’s a lot of motivation to make sure you are fit, playing well and you are playing for your team.
“It’s taken a long time to get there. Better late than never. But it’s icing on the cake for my career. I didn’t think I’d get this chance.
"We’ve got a lot of games to come and we are focusing on our league form.
“I’m sure when we are preparing there will be a few slight digs and comments from Fabricio. He’s a good friend of mine. Hopefully he can be there as well as me.”
