The Dane was not offered a new deal by United after his six-month contract expired last month and is still waiting for any of the clubs who have expressed an interest in him to make an offer.

He said: "There are a few things going on and my agent is in some meetings. I have told him not to bring me along until there is something concrete."

The Danish striker impressed Steve Bruce during his time at St James' Park with three goals from 12 Premier League appearances.

Lovenkrands: "I have plenty of time to find a club since the transfer window just opened.

"It's correct I received a letter from the club saying my contract with Newcastle has now expired.

"But it's no big surprise for me that Newcastle didn't renew it when they don't even have a manager in place."
