The pair clashed several times during their last meeting – Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to his former club Arsenal in March – but Krul says their Emirates Stadium feud is now in the past.
Tim Krul: “It’s done – I’m just looking forward to playing at Old Trafford, and getting a good result.
“He’s a fantastic striker – he showed that last year with Arsenal – and he’s showing it again this year.
“We have to defend like we did against QPR. We have to be solid. We’ve played against him a few times, so we know what to expect.
“We did well (at Old Trafford) last year, and in the cup. We don’t have to be afraid. We got a win, and hopefully we’ll dig out another.
“We beat them at home, and got a draw last year in the league. It’s a fantastic place to play your football, and I’m looking forward to it.
“We put QPR under pressure. We grafted. We were on top of them, and we deserved the three points. Patience was the word. We knew they’d sit back and try to hit us on the counter-attack.
“It’ll be different at Old Trafford, as we’ll be the ones on the back foot.
“We did well. We dug it out, and Shola came up with a fantastic winner. I keep saying he’s left-footed! He’s scored some amazing goals for this club – he’s massive.
“We had Gabby (Obertan) coming back from injury, and Sylvain (Marveaux) too. Last year our strength was our squad. Everyone did their jobs.
“A clean sheet and three points was massive. It’s nice going into two tough games – Man United and Arsenal away. It gives us a little bit more confidence.
“In the last few weeks we’ve played well – if you don’t create chances, that’s when you worry.
“The stats say it - if you keep pushing, it will come for you.”
