As it happens Kluivert's agent has rejected reports linking the player with a move back to Ajax, when everyone else is reading between the lines.
The 29-year-old began his career at Ajax and scored the winning goal for the Dutch side in the 1995 UEFA Champions League final.
Kluivert has made only five appearances for Valencia following his unhappy spell on loan at Newcastle, and has still to score for the Spanish club.
Kluivert's representative Paul Foortse: "Absurd, Patrick has just started for Valencia. I can't imagine that they (Valencia) would like to co-operate on a transfer."
