FIFA executive committee member Franz Beckenbauer has proposed that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar be played in January or February!

World Cups are traditionally held during the summer months after the end of the league competitions of 95% of world leagues.

No-one knows why FIFA went for Qatar in football terms - because the World Cup is going to be an organizers NIGHTMARE!

They only have TWO stadiums in the entire country, and every supporter travelling to that World Cup is going to be housed in an area 40 miles square.

It is likely to be a scorching 50 degrees Celsius at this time of year in Qatar, and Beckenbauer believes other options need to be considered.

Beckenbauer: "One should think about a different solution.

"In January or February you have a comfortable 25 degrees there. Plans for the biggest leagues would have to change for 2022 but that would not be a major undertaking.

"It would be an alternative to using climate control at great expense for stadiums and fan zones."
