Is It Time To Move Out Injury-Prone Taylor?

Last updated : 18 November 2013 By Footy Mad - Editor

fYet, as the games go by, the Greenwich-born defender is STILL on his sick bed!

After Sunderland he was "ready to be fit for Newcastle United’s Capital One Cup tie against Manchester City", but it didn't happen.

And he missed the club’s wonderful results against Chelsea and Spurs..

United manager Alan Pardew admitted after Chelsea that his star defender "wasn’t as close to a comeback" as he’d hoped, and also revealed Taylor suffered a minor setback in training.

Instead, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Mike Williamson have gained praise for their deputy performances.

Then we have Paul Dummett, a natural left- back but the 22-year-old has played central defence for the Youth team.

Taylor has long been linked with a move to either Liverpool or Arsenal, with neither club confirming any interest.

And looking at Taylor's appeapance record, the older he gets the less games he seems to play.

He will be 28 in January, and should be at his peak. But he is no closer to making the England squad as he was back in 2009 when he was tipped to be the next John Terry.

The REAL Reason Zaha Could End Up At Newcastle?

Why has Wilfried Zaha yet to play in the league this season and been linked with a move to St James' Park?

kNewcastle have increased their interest in Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha by opening talks to sign him on-loan, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports suggest Zaha's representatives have met with Newcastle officials to discuss the possibility of a six-moth deal.

David Moyes has ruled out a return to former club Crystal Palace.

Zaha was signed by former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson in January - his last signing before retiring from Old Trafford - but has only featured in United's League Cup win over Norwich this season while playing under Moyes.

However ...  Wilfried Zaha has been forced to deny he has been dropped by Moyes because he had an affair with the manager's daughter.

The £15million winger tweeted to rubbish 'silly rumours' about an alleged relationship between him and Lauren Moyes,19.

Lauren has been trending on Twitter and has since deleted her account because of the mischievous claims.

Zaha was left out of the Red Devils' squad for the 1-1 draw with Shaktar Donetsk in Ukraine.

Before the Champions League match he wrote: 'Silly rumours. #childish', which has now been retweeted more than 1,600 times.

MAGPIES IN EUROPE -

HARVEY TO PARDEW

sThe new version of "Magpies In Europe" will be launched next week.

Although NUFC are not talking to the Chronicle or Sunday Sun ... we are!

And the full story is expected to be in newspapers within the next two weeks.

The official new title is "Magpies In Europe - Harvey To Pardew" and is an up-dated version of "From Antwerp To Zurich" - which includes the 14 Europa League fixtures we played last season.

The 280-page book features match reports from the 134 European matches Newcastle United have played, starting with the memorable 4-0 win over Feyenoord in 1968 on our European debut.

Included are stats and the figures you would expect, but also each away fixture has the remarkable experiences of individuals who travelled to watch the matches.

fIntroduction by "Big Bad" John McNamee, part of the Fairs Cup winning team of 1969.

It is a fascinating history that every Newcastle United fan will enjoy.
