Heartless Toon Defender Bails Out For Easier Life!

The idea that defenders gave strikers a hard time ... without reprisal ... was common place everywhere but in England.

Leeds striker Alan Clarke was known to threaten defenders "touch me and I'll snap your back", and he was not alone.

Billy Whitehurst put Paul Bracewell out of the game for over a year just because he stood firm when the Everton player tried to kick him!

But it was too much for Leboeuf ... and sadly it is too much for Czech Republic defender David Rozehnal ... who has joined Lazio from Newcastle.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Magpies in a £2.9million deal from Paris St Germain last summer, had been on loan at the Italian club since January.

Lazio have now exercised their option to sign the player permanently in a move Newcastle say will see them recover the fee they paid PSG.

And I don't think there will be many Toon fans crying in their beer in Shearer's Bar this afternoon.

As one fan put it: "We can do without Soft Shites at this club".

And I couldn't have put it better myself.
