So what better place for Al to make history and become the first player to score 100 Premiership goals for two different clubs than at Old Trafford.

As expected he has been spending the whole week talking about points being more important than personal records, but it would be a sweet moment if he could pop up with the winner at the home of Manchester United.

Shearer told the Daily Record: "As a team we have not won for 31 years. Personally, it has not been great either but tell me a side who have done well there in the past 10 years - apart from Chelsea.

"Of course, I'd love to score my 100th there but I'll be more satisfied if we get three points.

"If we are going to be in the top four, which we believe we can, we have to go to places like Old Trafford and get something out of the game."
