But there was some joy this week for former Toon striker and now Luton manager Mick Harford, who has warned his players not to get carried away after pulling off a Carling Cup first-round shock win against Plymouth.

The Hatters, bottom of Coca-Cola League Two after being deducted 30 points, downed their opponents from the Championship thanks to goals from Rossi Jarvis and Tristan Plummer.

Harford: "I am delighted with the win and the performance and the way we played, but it's only one win and we won't get carried away.

"We've tried to put together a committed, honest and hardworking team allied with the talent that was on show tonight.

"We've got a genuine bunch here and we're all growing together but this is only one win and we're now concentrating on Gillingham on Saturday which is already a massive game for us."
