Megson has come under pressure at the Reebok Stadium following a disappointing opening to the season, which has seen Bolton fall into the relegation zone.

But ahead of Bolton's trip to Hull on Saturday, Brown is adamant he has no desire to return to his old employers on a permanent basis.

Brown: "Bolton Wanderers has been my spiritual home in football.

"But now I have another spiritual home, here at Hull. So it's an easy one to answer. I have a job to do here.

"And it would be very unfair on Gary Megson who is fighting like most managers to compete at this level and stay in work, to suggest otherwise.

"In fact, Gary is handling the situation well and I wish him all the best. It is a difficult job, end of story."

Megson has also had a crack at Arsene Wenger ... saying the Arsenal boss was wrong to publicly condemn Stoke's tactics last week.

The Arsenal boss spoke out after his team's defeat against the Potters last Saturday and claimed some of his players were targeted, a charge the newly-promoted club firmly denied.

Megson: "I don't think any team, including Arsenal, go out intentionally to hurt people - but sometimes it does happen.

"But we do not moan about it. We accept it as part and parcel of the game, and I think everyone should do that."
