False opinion of Toon 'Star' is great news

As talk intensifies of Kieron Dyer’s departure from St.James Park, those fans worried that we will struggle to find a buyer should be reassured by the following information.

Having written an article on Monday stating that I believed most people south of the Tyne still believed Dyer was a good player, I was happily reassured about my assumption in an interview with a Charlton Athletic website editor ahead of our clash on Sunday.

When asked the question, ‘Which NUFC player would you most like in your team?’
He replied, 'It has to be Kieron Dyer, he has it all, he can run at defenders and score goals. He is always a threat to the opposition.'

The fact that when Dyer scores goals he usually scores two, Southampton (a), Leeds (a) & Everton (h), has some people believing that he is indeed a good goal scorer.
Sven Goran Eriksson's continual inclusion of Dyer in England squads is also extremely encouraging.
It is opinions like this about Dyer that wil hopefully result in Newcastle receiving most of the £6million Ruud Gullit paid for the then Ipswich Town player in 1999.

The rest of this interview will appear here tomorrow
