Ex-Toon Target Says 'We Can Afford To Lose This Game'

Russia still have to play England at home and Hiddink is confident his side will qualify, regardless of the result at Wembley.

Guus Hiddink: "The pressure is on England because people expect so much of them.

"We can afford to lose this match and still be alive in the group. For us it would certainly not be the end of the world.

"I like to put pressure on my team too, but I'd say it's a different kind of pressure.

"We're in a rebuilding phase and our fans have a realistic sense of expectation. For England, victory is all important.
 
"We'll attack England whenever we can. You saw with Israel that when you have a philosophy to defend at all costs it almost always backfires.

"You won't see that attitude from us.

"But a draw would be fantastic. They would be celebrating in the streets of Moscow."
