Dyer set to face Kyiv

Kieron was close to facing Charlton at the weekend, as Sir Bobby told the Sunday Sun.

"Kieron did quite well in training on Friday, but at the end of it he felt his back stiffen up," said Robson.

"Today, he was fine again but when he said to me: 'I'll be a substitute,' it told me he wasn't fit.

"But he has a good chance of being OK for Tuesday."

The return of Dyer would be a huge boost for us in the must-win game with the Ukranians, especially with Craig Bellamy out through suspension and injury.

After several impressive performances by Jermaine Jenas in midfield, and with Lomana Lua Lua struggling for fitness, Dyer seems set to partner Alan Shearer up front.

At last some good news on the injury front.
