"It wasn't easy, the pitch was covered in divots and bobbled a lot. Even Nobby Solano, who is probably the most gifted player we have, needed to take two touches every time," explained Kieron.

"But saying that, it was the same for both sides and we are delighted to have won the game.

"The goal was a great team effort, it started in our half and Alan played a great ball into me so I just went for it. I was delighted to see it go in.

"I've been flying in training and I've been saying to the lads all week that I was going to score and run across to the Newcastle fans.

"There were a few coins and bottles whizzing past my head when I went off on the run though, but I still enjoyed it!"
