Worse than Christian Dailly? No not Keane
Feyernoord striker Pierre van Hooijdonk has broken his ankle in a game with Ajax and will be out for around six weeks, ruling him out of our Champions League game in Rotterdam.

Hibernian keeper Tony Caig has arrived at St James' for a trial which may well lead to him replacing Jon Karelse as our third choice keeper, as the Dutchman is out of contract at the end of the season.

I've not seen Caig play, but i've heard from a Hibs supporting mate of mine that he's not the best. England Under-20 keeper Russell Howarth of York has also been on trial recently and may well be a better bet.

David Batty's agent has said that he knows nothing about rumours linking his client with a return to Newcastle and that Bats will be staying at Leeds.

Wilko has been handed two pieces of good news down in Mackemsville. Firstly Kevin Phillips is fit to return at the weekend (regaining fitness for his January move to Spurs?) and secondly Jason McAteer has been ruled out for six weeks.
