Last season’s top scorer Ba had a clause in his contract which allowed him to leave for £7.5million ... and we were told it expired on July 31st 2012.

Yet, out of the blue, Derek Llambias explained that clause continues for as long as Ba is a Newcastle United player!

So why wasn't that made common knowledge from the start? Why give a deadline of July 31st, when it obviously isn't true?

Nobody seemed to know about the clause until then-Spurs boss Harry Redknapp told the sporting world he was going to sign the former West Ham striker in the summer transfer window for £7.5million.

As it happens, Spurs kicked his arse and he flew out of White Hart Lane before a deal was done.

The Senegalese star was offered around in the summer by his advisors, but no club took up the option.

Now he demands a £10,000-a-week wage increase on his £50,000-a-week earnings.

Newcastle have become disillusioned with Ba’s behaviour and are now ready to cash in.
