... will be back to face former club Newcastle United next week after missing almost three months with an ankle ligament injury.

Debuchy is now back in full training with Arsenal and, although Wednesday’s match against Southampton will come too soon for him, he is expected to again be available next week.

Arsene Wenger: “It's vital for us that we find our defensive stability, [which] we have not had since the start of the season.”

Meanwhile, as we saw at St James' Park earlier in the season, clubs are clamping down of supporters who show banners calling for the manager's head.

Any banners calling for the departure of Wenger at the Emirates on Wednesday will be confiscated if it is judged that they could incite problems between home fans.

Wenger’s future is currently dividing fans following a disappointing start to the season. After winning a fifth FA Cup in May, a survey for the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust suggested that most fans had backed the award of a new contract for their manager. They are currently sixth in the Premier League but have qualified for the knockout phase of the Champions League.

Wenger: “Ideally yes but the most important thing is that internally we are very united.

“Our job is to be competitive and to fight and that is the way we can do our job, only be being united.

“We are creating something special inside the club but that has to come out through performances and games won.

"Our job is to win football games and that is what we want to do. That is the best way to unite everybody.”
